Preston

At the age of 2 we noticed Preston had some delays (speech, motor difficulties, and sensory differences) and started early intervention right away.  Thanks to some wonderful therapists, teachers, and doctors, he was able to find his words and overcome some of his sensory difficulties.  Preston would later be diagnosed with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental coordination disorder.  He has overcome a lot in his 7 years of life and regardless of his diagnosis’ he has always been very resilient and a joy to be around.  He is a great big brother and a typical 7-year-old that loves Star Wars, dinosaurs, and most importantly his Boston Terrier, Luna.

As a parent to a child with a rare disorder, the unknowns and the future can seem daunting and we would love to be able to find more information and resources on how to best support our son with what the future may hold.  Thanks to this group and foundation we have already pinpointed some things that are commonly associated with this gene variant disorder and we are excited to find out more to best support Preston.
